Opportunities for Complying with the European MDR

In May 2017, the European Union established the Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745). This action started the clock on a transitional period that ends with full implementation in May 2020. The transition period is important because the MDR includes a series of requirements that can have profound implications for medical device companies. Companies that are not prepared to have compliant systems, processes and products by the implementation date may find themselves unable to market their products in the EU after May 2020.
Nordson MEDICAL can support the efforts around testing, revalidation, or redesign to meet the new requirements, as well as identify any other possible benefits that could be achieved during that process.

Spaulding™ Aseptic Disconnects:
Eliminate the need for pinch clamps and tube welders with Spaulding™ Aseptic Disconnects. Valves that automatically shut off flow when the fittings are disconnected provide a leak-free connection and help protect valuable fluids. Interchangeable with similar plastic connectors, these disconnects can be easily incorporated into your existing systems.
TC Reducers:
We also responded to multiple customer requests and will be adding a series of TC reducers to our extensive line of BioProcessing fittings. Complementary to our popular sanitary fittings, PharmaLok™ clamps, and platinum-cured silicone gaskets, we will be adding reducers in six different sizes and two materials—polypropylene and Kynar PDVF.
